Dr Dimitrov was an Associate Professor in Medical Statistics and was appointed as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Southampton in 2012.
He had extensive research experience in public health, biomedical and environmental sciences, mainly in health and medical statistics, epidemiology, clinical trials research and quality of life (oncology, nephrology, diabetology, neurology and respiratory medicine). His expertise was in biostatistics, research methodology, data analyses, modelling and forecasting. Having worked on a range of international collaborations at different phases of screening, disease management, drugs development, marketing and authorization, he had gained in-depth knowledge and broad skills in clinical epidemiology, study design, clinical statistics and content management (e.g., clinical prediction rules, time-series analyses, decision-tree approach, artificial neural networks, PROs and scores/scales development, clinical decision-making and information management consulting).
